Sandra Kingery has been at Lycoming College, where she is Professor of Spanish, for 13 years. Kingery's research interests focus primarily on contemporary women writers from Spain, but her most recent translation is a Cuban novel: René Vázquez Díaz's Welcome to Miami, Doctor Leal. Kingery has also published two translations by Ana María Moix: Moix's first novel, Julia, and her most recent short story collection, Of My Real Life I Know Nothing. Kingery was commissioned to translate a selection from Hebe de Bonafini's autobiography (published in The Global Game. Writers on Soccer) and two stories by Julio Cortázar: "The Pursuer" and his posthumous "Bix Beiderbecke" (both published in The Jazz Fiction Anthology).
